This place is simply amazing! From the moment you enter through the elevators you're greeted by the hosts and taken to your table. Our server was friendly and explained the meaning behind the restaurant and recommend some starters. We ordered chicken dumplings and the tartar and those dumplings were 10/10. For entrees we had stir fry and salmon and the flavors in those dishes surprised us in the best way. Perfect spot for a date night or company outing.
Wonderful! This was my third time at Le Colonial and it checked all the boxes. The food was perfect- we had the pan seared dumplings shrimp and pork rolls to start and they came out piping hot and fresh; flavor was excellent. For our main, my husband and I split the chicken clay pot and garlic green beans. Our server was attentive (but not overbearing) and knowledgeable; he was great. The restaurant itself is stunning with its decor, but it can be a little loud, but not uncomfortably so. Will be back.
I have been friends with my dearest friend for over a decade. He is from Georgia, but we met at Rutgers where we both went to college. I know, my fellow New Jersians asking why the heck did he go to a NJ states school from Georgia? Well, my gain since I met him due to it. During and after college, we kept in touch and stayed close via zoom, facetime, or just a phone call. During our calls, I would speak with him family, but never really met them in person. I was fortunate that I got to meet them the last time I was in Atlanta. We went here for Mother's Day brunch! We all sorts of tapas to share and it was fine for what it was, but I have my favorite place here in Manhattan to compare it to. It did not meet my overall standards, but it is a nice place to go to for tapas. Added a star because my company was just fantastic and I had an amazing time. Sometimes it is the ppl that make the dining experience better than the actual food.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. The service was impeccable. We corked a bottle of wine for $35 ( you can bring one in if it's not on their list). 4 of us ordered a variety of dishes. The ribs were the favorite for 2 of the 4. Beet salad and the rice topped the list for the other 2. Special occasion was made even more special by eating here.
Just came in for drinks because I never been in here before. I've been in the area a lot but not this specific location. First and foremost it is beautiful on the inside. Street parking and garage parking is available so whenever you get a chance to find some place on the street make sure you take it because it's not that expensive to park on the street. And it's a very walkable area so even if you do happen to park on the street you don't really mind because there's so many places to go in that small area. You have to go on a 2 and 1/2 floor to get to the restaurant. Which is really strange because typically they don't have floors when it comes to elevators lol. But take the elevators up or the steps and you'll be there right at the door. There's a greeting station right there so that should not be an issue to get greeted to get seated. I went straight to the back where the bar is, but there's a copious amount of seating available. You have regular dinner table seats and tables. Everything is decorated very well around them. You also have the back area where the bar is that you have couches in front of the bar so you can have a small table and have a small gathering of people there in a more comfortable setting. The bartenders that were working when I went were really good, I ordered the Golden sunrise and it came out pretty well. The bar is decorated very nice and it has what looks like a split between bourbon and tequila on the back wall. If you ask the bartenders they'll tell you about it and they're very professional. If you order the drinks, you're paying about $20 a drink no matter how you look at it from the specialty menu so just make sure you keep that in mind. Overall this will be a good spot to go to for dinner, or maybe if you wanted to go on a date this probably will be a good spot as well because of how is set up and laid out as far as the ambiance and the dim lighting goes.
Good service Food was ok. Beautiful place. Had a few small plates items: Ribs - excellent Beet salad - ok could use a cream sauce Sticky mushroom rice - very bland Brussel Sprouts - Ive had better Chicken Rolls - ok Not too bad in pricing but I could have had the same meal with better flavor at PF Changs. Won't return l.
You're really paying for the immaculate vibes. Service was great and food was good, but quite overpriced for what it is. We came for a late lunch on Saturday and decided to sit on the patio since it was such a nice day. The lush trees, Parisienne bistro sets, and patterned tiling were such a nice touch to the seating area. We ordered a vietnamese coffee, beef ravioli, ribs, shaking beef, and side of garlic noodles. Everything was solid, although the coffee was a bit weak for a Vietnamese coffee. My immigrant parents would be appalled at the prices for traditionally very standard vietnamese food. However, we are in Buckhead Village. The dishes were elevated a bit in one way or another and the decor does make up for it. Overall, I'm happy I gave La Colonial a try.
